PROTOTYPE

A field study in becoming.Art × AI × Memory × Form

Statement / 00

This is not a record of where I went. It is a record of what those encounters did to the way I see.

Seven months

Venice, Antwerp, London and Basel did not arrive as a neat itinerary. They accumulated as methods: dismantle the form, choreograph the body, hold political tension, understand desire. PROTOTYPE is where those methods first collide.

Inputs / 01

Four territories.
Four methods.

The archive begins with encounters, not conclusions.
01AntwerpFashion / Deconstruction

Unmake the silhouette.

The Royal Academy graduation work and the city shaped by the Antwerp Six made construction visible by first pulling it apart. A garment could become an argument: seams exposed, volume displaced, beauty left deliberately unresolved.

Method learned: dismantle the given form.
02LondonInstitution / Installation

Scale changes meaning.

Between the British Museum and Tate Modern, objects moved from evidence to atmosphere. A display case asked for distance; an installation asked for the body. Space was no longer a neutral container—it became part of the work.

Method learned: choreograph the encounter.
03VeniceBody / Territory / Energy

The body becomes the medium.

Performance, national pavilions and unstable gestures turned the Biennale into a map of borders, migration, minority identity, war and human pain. The strongest work did not explain conflict. It made the visitor carry part of its weight.

Method learned: let presence do what captions cannot.
04BaselDesire / Capital / Display

Value has an architecture.

Art Basel revealed the machinery around the object: attention, scarcity, confidence, social proof and the choreography of acquisition. Commercialisation did not sit outside art. It designed how art was approached, desired and remembered.

Method learned: frame desire without flattening the idea.

Collision / 02

Chronology breaks.
A visual language begins.

Deconstruction meets installation. Performance meets commerce. Private memory meets public conflict. AI enters not as an answer, but as an accelerator—able to combine forms before their meaning has settled.

Questions / 03

The work stays open.

  1. 01

Who is allowed to become visible—and who remains material for someone else’s story?

  2. 02

Can pain be transformed without being consumed?

  3. 03

What happens when AI learns the visual language of protest faster than it learns its history?

  4. 04

Can an archive hold contradiction without resolving it?

  5. 05

At what point does an experiment become a product?

Open studio / 04

The page is designed to mutate.

These empty structures are intentional. Each will become an original work made with a different AI medium.

Process / 05

AI is not the subject.
It is the unstable studio.

The work moves through a repeated loop: lived experience becomes language; language becomes machine form; machine form is rejected, distorted or selected; selection returns as a new human decision. The value is not in generation alone. It is in the act of choosing what deserves to remain.
